:: DESCRIPTION
The Exchanger tool caters to this need by providing a light-weight solution for exchanging files over time. Experimentalists can ‘submit’ files for manipulation, processing and analysis to a bioinformatician, in a secure and organised fashion, even if on a remote site. Files can be annotated with essential details like owner, date, data type and state (raw/processed/log file etc). Likewise, one or more bioinformaticians can use the system to manage the multitude of files they need to work with when participating in multiple projects. When jobs are completed, results can be returned to the owners properly documented.
